Clair — Official Mail Decoder
Photograph an official letter and understand three things clearly: what it actually says, what the letter says may happen if you ignore it, and what you need to do by when.
Designed for people dealing with bureaucracy in a language that is not their first language.
1. Plain-language explanation
Clair explains the letter in straightforward language without pretending to replace a lawyer, tax adviser, doctor or public authority.
2. Deadline protection
Deadlines are extracted carefully. Relative deadlines such as “30 days from receipt” are not converted until the required starting date is confirmed.
3. Reply preparation
For suitable low-risk letters, Clair can prepare a formal reply draft using the correct reference details supplied by the user or verified from the document.
Built to fail safely
Clair does not guess legal deadlines, invent consequences, make payments, submit appeals or automatically send replies. Court matters, tax enforcement, immigration, debt collection, benefits termination, pension disputes, health matters and other high-risk cases are flagged for qualified human review.
Office addresses and contact details must come from the letter itself or a verified official source. Text inside uploaded documents is treated as document content, not as instructions to the AI.
Privacy first
Production processing is being designed around encrypted server-side handling, minimal retention, user-controlled deletion and no browser-stored AI credentials. Health and other sensitive documents receive additional safeguards.
